Belleus IGT
55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot, 8% Tempranillo, 9% Syrah
This wine is the result of a blend of 5 grape varieties cultivated in two distinct sites. In the early-ripening site of St. Peter near Bolzano grow Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, while in the slightly later-ripening site of Missian in the municipality of Appiano grow Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo. Both sites lie at approximately 350 m above sea level. The two different microclimates balance the ripening stages so that all 5 varieties can be harvested at the same time and fermented together. The yield is approximately 5,000 kg/ha. The wine was aged in French barrique barrels for 18 months.
