Gewürztraminer DOC

This wine grows in Missian in the municipality of Appiano. A loamy and calcareous soil provides the vines with ample minerals. A low yield of 4,000 kg of grapes per hectare and two different harvest dates are the key to its complexity. Two thirds of the harvest were picked very ripe. One third was harvested one month later as a Spätlese with a very high must weight; it could not ferment completely, which gives the wine its natural residual sugar, great body and density, as well as its complexity. A wine with great potential and good ageing ability.
